Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of company goods.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Positions

  • Lead the procurement and inventory teams to ensure supply continuity, quality and pricing. Maintain supplier evaluations. Enable on-time production orders.
  • Ensure components and finished goods inventory levels that meet deliverability requirements and low capital commitment in the short and long term.
  • Responsible for smooth and cost-optimized shipment of products to direct customers and distributors.
  • Create and maintain procurement master data on the MRP system. Manage orders and delivery processes.
  • Create reporting of relevant metrics to measure SCM performance.
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives to ensure efficient and effective execution of the above core responsibilities.
  • Enforce compliance of legal and safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staffing, supervision, and performance management of department employees to include disciplinary action. Disciplinary action to be reviewed by Human Resources and Head of Operations.
  • Checks employees’ timecards for errors and corrections
  • Participate in staff management training and effectively manage employees in compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Interview, hire, and train new department employees.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews, establish clear goals, and support learning opportunities for job skills and career growth. Performance reviews to be reviewed by Human Resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 –5 years progressive experience in management of materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment desired.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, total quality, six sigma, or other similar environments.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. 
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers and customers.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, management or other related discipline or equivalent work experience preferred.

Special Work Conditions

This position requires 5+ hours per day standing, sitting, walking, talking and listening.  Lifting to 10 lbs. 0-2 hours per day.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
